Full Description
Remains of a burnt mound recorded by RCHAMS field survey in 1999 (CLOVA99 241). It is C-plan with a hollow on the southeast side, and measures 9.5m by 4.5m, and 0.6m high. Burrows and molehills had exposed shattered stone fragments and burnt soil. The site was visited by Alder Archaeology in March 2017 during walkover survey in advance of a proposed hydro-electric scheme (NO36NW0082). At that time it was almost entirely grassed over with stones occasionally visible through the turf.
