Full Description
Possible circular homestead. Discovered by Sherriff in 1986 and described as a hut-circle. It is located on the east flank of Meams Hill. The remains are of a large round house measuring 18.5m x 19.5m (external diameter). The wall is of rubble and retained by a massive outer kerb. It is terraced into the hillside and no apparent entrance is visible. The size of the kerb suggests to Taylor that this is not a hut-circle, but rather a circular homestead, designed for pastoral purposes, to house both stock and their guardians.
