Full Description

A possible stone circle stands at Lynnagowan, reported in 1972. There are three stones in an arc, with one stone on the opposite side of the circumference. There is circa 19m between the three stones, the possible circle estimated at 58 m in diameter. RCAHMS site visit 2013 recorded that the four stones had been removed. A scatter of field clearance at NJ 04809 41434 includes two rough granite slabs (one measuring 1.8 m long, 1.1 m wide and 0.6 m thick, the other 1.35 m long, 0.55 m wide and 0.4 m thick), but there was no evidence that either derived from a stone circle. Nearby was the top of a granite pillar-shaped stone (measuring 0.8 m by 0.5 m by 0.35 m) which had been deliberately split, but it was concluded that there was nothing to connect this with a stone circle.
