Full Description

War memorial, built in circa 1920. It has a wide circular stepped base, enclosed by a low stone wall with an entrance at the north-west. Within this is an octagonal base with a battered base course bearing a bronze memorial plaque dated 1914-1919, and a list of names on the north-west face. There is a frieze inscribed 'TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND TO THE UNDYING MEMORY OF THE MEN OF GLAMIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR'. A battered tapering shaft with a Celtic cross finial sits on the octagonal base. A full transcription of the memorial is held in the AAS Digital Archive.
