Full Description
School, dated to 1846 and attributed to W Paterson, Dundee. Single-storey, T-plan school building, constructed of random rubble, with stugged and margined ashlar dressings. Chamfered doorcases and windows, with 10-lying-pane top-hopper timber window frames. A decorative cast-iron finial is at the north gable. The grey slate roof has coped skews with skewblocks and end stacks, cut down at the east. Rubble-coped rubble boundary walls are to the north, east, south and west, with a rubble built out-building to the west. The school was built as a Free Church School, associated with the Free Church (NO33SW0042) to the south.
