Full Description

Cottage, probably built in the mid 19th century within the wider Auchtavan settlement (NO29NW0015). It is a single-storey and attic, three-bay, unaltered cottage with piended dormer windows and an outshot to the rear, and is constructed from coursed squared rubble. The symmetrical south entrance elevation has a centre bay with a boarded timber door and letterbox fanlight, windows in flanking bays and dormer windows over the outer bays flanking a traditional rooflight. There is four-pane and plate glass glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows. The grey slate roof has coped ashlar stacks with clay cans and ashlar-coped skews with block skewputts. There is a fine traditional interior with boarded timber wall, a timber fire surround to the east room and a swey to the west room.
