Full Description
Cairn, recorded in 2017, suggested to possibly be prehistoric with kerb-like stones. The cairn is at least 20m in diameter, the height of visible stones is 2 m. On top of the cairn is an Ordnance Survey trigonometrical survey point (OS trig point) in the form of a pillar constructed in 1956 for the mid-20th century retriangulation of Great Britain. round the trig point is a windbreak built from small stones (probably from the cairn). An OS trig point block is also recorded at this location: a trig point is depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps.
