Full Description

Remains of suspension bridge which gave access to Abergeldie Castle. Built at the expense of Queen Victoria in 1885 by engineers Blaikie Brothers. It was a slender iron suspension foot-bridge between iron pylons on granite piers. The wooden deck was supported on rope cables suspended from the pylons, and has wire mesh parapets. It replaced an earlier rope and cable bridge, but was washed away during the floods of January 2016.
