Full Description

Depopulated settlement. The area is densely covered in the remains of buildings, enclosures, tracks and field boundaries, all of which are of a broadly contemporary post-medieval agricultural settlement. The varying states of decay of the buildings, and evidence of two construction phases in two cases, suggest that the remains represent a development of occupation. The are the remains of a lime kiln and features possibly associated with a watermill. Piles of field clearance on the north and east edges derive from adjacent cultivated land and have probably been accumulating until relatively recently. A total of seven enclosures were recorded and a series of circular stone platforms for hay-stacks are also present.
