Full Description

Remains of a hut, recorded by the RCHAMS during field survey in 2004. It is sub-rectangular, measuring 6.1m by 1.9m, the walls reduced to stony banks up to 0.9m thick and 0.4m. It is not depicted on the 1st or 2nd edition OS map. Walkover survey ahead of proposed woodland creation in 2021 (NO27SE0011) recorded that the footings survive up to two courses high, and that the absence of rubble collapse indicates a turf structure, measuring circa 6m by over 3m, the walls 0.5m wide. There is a possible entrance on the northeast side.
