Full Description

Remains of a building, possibly a shieling hut. Recorded by the RCAHMS during field survey in 2004, it measures 7m by 2.1m over faced rubble walls up to 0.8m wide and 0.4m in height, with an entrance in the northeast side. Not depicted on the 1st or 2nd edition OS maps, nor on the current edition (2006). It was also recorded by walkover survey ahead of proposed woodland creation in 2021 (NO27NE0056). The footings of this rectangular structure survive up to two courses, comprised of medium field stones/boulders. It measured circa 7m by 3m.
