Full Description
Remains of group of shielings recorded during walkover survey carried out by AOC Archaeology in May 2019 ahead of a proposed woodland creation scheme (NO26SE0017). It comprises five very degraded turf and stone structures measuring up to 6m by 2.5m internally with banks spread between 1.2m and 1.5m, and up to 0.5m high. A sixth structure, also of stone and turf, measured 4m by 2m internally with banks spread to 1m and 0.5m high with some large boulders visible.
