Full Description

Remains of a possible Four-Poster stone circle, recorded by J. Sherriff in 1985 during field survey. It comprises of one erect, but leaning, stone which is 0.35 m high. Three fallen stones lie near it in a roughly rectangular formation, about 2.5 m square. Burl notes that this 'miniature' form of the Four-Poster tradition seems to be typical of this area of Scotland and notes the Brankam Hill circles (themselves smaller than this example) lie 0.8 km to the south and the proximity to the nearby ring-cairns (eg. NO25NE0030).
