Full Description
Remains of at least three buildings situated to the south of a roofed cottage. To the west are the grass-covered footings of two other buildings lying at right angles to each other. A fieldwalking survey conducted in 2000 located a total of 11 new structures around the present cottage (in addition to the three known buildings) which correspond with the location of the 18th century township of Kandakyle. This township appears as a small community of circa 17 buildings on a mid 18th century map and occurs on rental lists from 1742 but was cleared by the mid 1780s. Subsequent geophysical survey was also carried out.
