Full Description

Remains of a power house, recorded during a walkover survey that was carried out by Highland Archaeology Services in 2015 prior to the proposed constructed of a power generation scheme with associated infrastructure. A building on this site, possibly the power house, is depicted on the 2nd edition OS map. It is a concrete-built, roofless rectangular building, standing on a flat-topped raised platform. Projecting from under the west side of the building were the footing of an earlier structure with the stub of a chimney on the far west side. This power house was presumably the original powerhouse for the hydro scheme connected to the dam to the south (NO18NW0019).
