Full Description

Depopulated settlement, comprising two small longhouses and possibly others within the present farmyard in the vicinity of a white cottage. There are several longhouses with curved ends and single entrances and the remains of others with partitions. A walled enclosure has two mature trees growing in it. There are also partitioned longhouses with square corners, bow-ended longhouses, other enclosures and stone clearance heaps outwith the farm yard. There is a system of tracks and a stream has been deflected to avoid seepage of the site. Other longhouses and enclosures lie along the foot of the slope to the north, while in Callater Gorge, on the north bank beside the sheepwash is a longhouse with rounded corners and partitioned. Two other longhouses are aligned and have rounded corners.
