Full Description

Possible remains of a hospital/hostelry, comprising the turf-covered footings of a rectangular building. It is larger than the buildings in depopulated settlements in the area and prominently situated at the junction of two trackways predating the military road. A hospital at Cairnwall called Shean Spittlal is recorded about 1732, and it is described as being in use in 1736.
