Full Description

Remains of three shieling huts on the north side of the Allt Bhronn burn, all of which are set against a terrace cut by the burn. They range in length from 3.3m to 7.7m by between 2.1m and 2.9m in breadth within turf-and-stone walls 0.5m to 0.7m thick and up to 0.6m high each with a single entrance in one side. A midden some 3.5m across and 0.5m high is situated a short distance to the southeast of the largest building. This site was within the study area for DBA and walkover survey carried out by Highland Archaeology Services in February 2023 in advance of instream river restoration works (NO08NW0055), but no feature noted at this location by the walkover.
