Full Description
Remains of shielings scattered in the angle of the burns Allt Connie and Allt Cristie Mor and across the northeast facing hillside. The majority are subrectangular in shape, ranging from 6.5m to 8.9m in length and from 3.2m to 4.8m in breadth. Five of the huts are noticeably shorter than the rest and are sited close to a larger hut, so they may have been stores rather than for domestic occupation. One anomolous feature within this group is a D-shaped structure measuring 6m by 4.8m over rubble-faced walls 0.8m thick. It is situated in an narrow gully on the hillside through which a small burn runs and is concealed from below by a small knoll. Because of the concealed position it is possible that it is the remains of an illicit still.
