Remains of a farmstead and possible township depicted on historic OS maps. The remains comprise houses, longhouses and enclosure. A pair of 'modern' houses (mortar), with former slate roofs, the chimney using quarried and squared stone. The first house 15m by 6m is square-ended, 8 courses high, with cheese-press block and iron ring outside. The house is fronted by walled terrace. Second house, 20m by 6m, with 12 courses surviving on gable. Southwards towards the burn are enclosures of a rather rudimentary character tied onto rocks and boulders, severely robbed, but clearly very substantial features in their original state. A 3m diameter limekiln is set into linear clearance dyke, with stone free ground upslope. A longhouse, 15m by 4m, with two entrances, and an enclosure, 16m by 31m, is set against two mature larch trees, with an adjacent 12m by 5m building tacked on outside, and also a garden plot with soil accumulation. For were recovered by a metal detectorist within the area of the settlement, and reported in 2024 seeNO08NE0074, NO08NE0082.
