Full Description

Parish church, built in 1787. On a T-plan, of squared granite cherry cocked with slate, skewputs and a segment headed bird cage bellcote with a ball finial. The glazing has been altered. Internally there are galleries on the north, west and east with two wooden columns each to the ceiling, and three arches in the cove of the ceiling to west and east. It retains the original pulpit with ogee sounding board with balustraded arca in front. The only monument in the churchyard is the Cairness enclosure. A war memorial (NK06SW0063) stands in front of the church. Within the churchyard are two Commonwealth war graves, of Private Alexander Bruce, Army Service Corps (died 15 March 1915) and Second Lieutenant JCH Gordon, Gordon Highlanders (died 23 January 1921).
