Full Description
Pill box, dating from World War II, which overlooks Cairnbulg harbour. It is a type 24, with six sides, one door and five loopholes. There is no inside ricochet wall, but there is a table under the loops holes for machine guns. Was numbered pill box No115. Purchased by a local fisherman in 1947 and used by him and his son to store creel baskets. Anti-tank blocks from the surrounding beach were used to build an extension to the harbour (NK06NW0011). The pillbox was photographed during site visit in 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey
