Full Description

Fisher house, now in use as a museum. It is a typical 18th-19th Century fisher family's house preserved at 26 Shore Street, Inverallochy, consisting of a single-storey, rubble-built, cottage with earthen floors, timber-box beds, a hanging lum and pantiled roof. It lay empty from 1949 when the last occupant, Maggie Duthie, passed away, before being being boarded up against vandalism. It was subsequently restored in the mid-late 1980s, and is now open as a visitor attraction. The house is a tiny but-and-ben almost totally unaltered, and even contains the original furniture. The house probably to a large extent from the 18th Century.

Period Notes
Probably built mid-18thC; inhabited until 1949.
