Full Description
Remains of Poor's Houses. They were originally thatched and in existence by 1845, but it is unknown when they were first built. The remains of at least three houses stand on a slightly raised area above the Moss of Lochlundie. Mention is made of them in the Slains Parochial Board Minutes of 1845-76 when the Poor Law Inspector was instructed 'to take necessary steps for repairing and thatching the paupers before winter' ( August 8th, 1846).
