Full Description

Remains of church, probably 15th Century as the church is mentioned in a charter of 1499. There is good dressed stone on the inside of an impressive large east window arch. The entrance is in the south wall, with 2-window openings in the north wall. The level of the interior is raised by tumbled masonry. There is no trace of the aumbry in the south wall mentioned by H. Scott (in 'Fasti ecclesiae Scoticanae: the succession of ministers in the Church of Scotland from the Reformation', 1915-61, vol 6), but there is one in the east gable. Scott also mentions a piscina and a sacrament house but it is unclear if these survive. No indications of graves in the alleged graveyard nor can a well be located. Also named as St Fidamnan's.
