Full Description

A six-sided pill-box of World War II stands on the southwest side of the Ythan estuary near the road bridge. There is a blast wall at the west side. The interior is filled with rubbish. Other anti-invasion measures along the beach included anti-tank blocks and scaffolding poles. Site visit in 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey: probably a type 27 pillbox.
