Full Description

Ice-houses of late 18th-early 19th century date. Semi-subterranean, they are built into the coastal slope and almost completely covered by earthen mounds. The smaller of the two has a masonry barrel vault, with entrances at both ends although the original doorways appear to have been robbed out and repaired in brick. The larger is brick-vaulted, the north gable of granite rubble. has the ruin of an ante-chamber. It was loaded through a hole in the roof. They were in use into the 20th century. Nearby is the ruin of a fisherman's cottage.
