Full Description

Former garage shop, now disused, built in 1927 on the site of earlier buildings. The ground floor was most recently used as a shop, and the first floor as a flat. A Level 2 Standing Building Survey was carried out in 2017 prior to proposed demolition. It was recorded as being a two-storey Art Deco building, constructed from concrete blocks. The principal east elevation facing Cross Street has a whitewashed façade, with large windows (now covered) on the ground floor elevation, and smaller windows above. There is a 1927 date stone within a gablet. There is a small blocked door on the north elevation, and a large door on the south wall that would have allowed access to the forecourt to the south, which is now removed. The building has been extensively modernized.
