Full Description

A lifeboat had been situated in Fraserburgh since 1806 but this was was kept by the Harbour Commissioners until the 1850s. The new RNLI Fraserburgh lifeboat station was opened on the 22 september 2007, and is the fourth to be built in Fraserburgh. The building was designed by Macduff architect Gordon J Philip and Associates. It incorporates parts of the first RNLI lifeboat station built in 1858 and includes a workshop, crew rooms for training and changing, a shop and a garage. The architect has also designed a feature panel for the new lifeboat station, which incorporates the date stone and part of a timber truss from the previous Fraserburgh station.
