Full Description

The Fraserburgh war memorial stands at the junction of Saltoun Road and South Road. It commemorates the dead of both World War I and II, and was unveiled on the 12th September 1923. It has a large rectangular base with plaques on each face, and built-out small angled corner pieces, the faces of which also bear plaques. It stands on a large one-step base. Above, on a three-step plinth, is the bronze cast of two classical figures. The larger is a cloaked and seated female with a down-turned sword in front of her. To her left side is a smaller figure of a cloaked warrior with helmet and shield who is holding the sword in his left hand. Full transcription of memorial held in AAS Digital Archive.
