Full Description
Farmstead depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition shows a U-plan steading, open to the south with a horsemill on the east wind, another building on the south side of the court, and another building to the north of the steading. To the south of the steadings is a farmhouse. The horsemill has since been removed. The farmhouse was built in the 18th century, perhaps slightly later than 1795. 2-storey, 3-window harled, no margins. Original woodwork. There is a fine unaltered kitchen in single-storey wing, unaltered hearth with sway. Tall self-cleaning chimney (chain of apparatus now broken).
