Full Description

Former mill, dated 1791 but reconstructed later, now disused. Built of coursed squared granite, picturesque, it is 2-storey and attic on an L-plan, with gables and piended roofs. There is a double start and awe wheel, a large kiln with later top courses and a tall square section ventilator. The kiln vent is of later date as old paintings and photographs how a small conical vent. There are ruins of smaller sawmill with a single start and awe wheel on the north. Part of the mill lade still survives to the north. Nearby is a 2-span rubble bridge with segmental arches and triangular cutwaters, probably contemporary. Bridge (Listed Category B) has small pinnings at the spandrels, and wide approaches but parapet damaged.
