Full Description

Mansion house, of early 19th century date, built for Gordon of Cairnbulg who inherited the property from the Earl of Aberdeen in 1801. It is a 2-storey and basement rectangular block, harled with granite dressings. The 4-window west front, has an advanced centre, couple-column Roman-doric porch with curved stairs flanked by niches, and tripartite doorpiece within with some gothic touches. There are triglyphs over columns, modillioned cornice, and a blocking course with centre panelled features. The piended roof has two centre chimneys. The house has a simple classical interior with centre stairwell.
