Full Description

Folly, the Temple of Theseus. The neo-classical tastes of the early Ferguson lairds of Pitfour are reflected in the copy of the Doric temple which was built by the lakeside circa 1835. Small Greek Doric, hexastyle temple with 34 granite column peristyle, and wood entablature. Very finely detailed, interior contains cold bath. Roof dilapidated and parts of cornice missing.

Said to be built c1809-20 though may be c1835.
