Full Description

Former mill, now converted to residential use. The mill was built in the early to mid 19th century with a later three storey rubble range on an L-plan, with the blanked off stump of an Aberdeenshire type kiln vent. An eight-spoke, all-iron overshot wheel drove the mill and could be coupled to a threshing mill in a detached two-storey building. There were 2 kilns, the southern one the tallest, made of pinned whinstone with brick kiln. The mill had an overshot all-iron wheel, measuring 14ft x 4ft, with (later) concrete lade between the main building and tower block. The wheel appears to have been moved eastward. Converted into residential accommodation.
