Full Description

Remains of railway viaduct which formerly carried the Dyce-Fraserburgh (Buchan) line of the former Great North of Scotland Rly over the River Ythan. It has three main arches, brick voussoirs, squared granite rubble with bull-faced piers and parapets. One land arch springing at a higher level over roadway at the south approach. It closed to regular passenger traffic (with the Buchan line as a whole) on 4 October 1965, but remains standing. The railway is disused but the viaduct maintained and pointed.
