Full Description

Bone Mill, warehouses and quay dating from the early 19th century. It is a somewhat altered group of 1-storey and 2-storey rubble buildings, the most impressive of which is a 2-storey, 3 by 7 bay store, with external stone stair, and elliptical arched cart entry. To the rear are the overgrown quays and a small dock on the River Ythan, marking the end of the navigation from Newburgh. It was closed circa 1920. Now part of it is an egg packing station. The site later became part of the Meadows Park Industrial Estate in 1986, before that in turn was replaced by residential housing built just prior to 2006.

Period Notes
Early 19thC; closed c.1920.
