Full Description
Remains of dovecot. It measures 1.8 m internal diameter, with walls 0.6 m thick and circa 1.0 m maximum height. The top of the 16th century Dovecot built by Abbot Thomas Chrystall on Doocot Island is depicted on a 1770 sketch of Waterton House. The remains of a stone and mortar building stand on a small island on the Ythan. There is a blocked entrance is on the northeast side. Although no dovecot features are apparent, this is probably the remains of the dovecot referred to by Godsman.
