Site of a house which was demolished in 1969, lodge and remains of the grounds. The house is depicted on the OS 1st edition map set in largely wooded grounds which include a large walled garden (NJ91SW0085) to the north of the house. West of the garden is a steading, including a U-plan range and long range annotated as a kennels. There had been some extensions to the steadings by the time of the 2nd edition map, which also shows a lodge east of the walled garden. A programme of building recording and evaluation was carried out by AOC Archaeology in July 2014 prior to redevelopment of the former farm buildings, walled garden and house. The steading range appeared to have been established by the early 19th century and was further expanded in the later 19th century. A total of 6 evaluation trenches were excavated, most of them inside the walled garden, but no archaeological features or artefacts were observed. Bogdan suggests 13th century fortalice (referred to in documentary source) of Malcolm of Balgownie may have occupied the same site as the house.
