Full Description
Former farmstead, now converted to residential use. The 1st edition OS map shows that the steading is square in plan with a central court open at the south-west, with five buildings as well as the steading. There is a triangular enclosure to the west. By the 2nd edition OS map the steading is shown as modified incorporating two of the smaller buildings into its structure and no court is shown. The enclosure and two smaller buildings are shown to the west. The 2005 map shows that the steading has been partially removed as has one of the buildings to its west. Described in the Aberdeenshire OS Name Books, 1865-1871 Aberdeenshire volume 08 (OS1/1/8/39) as: 'A farm house, occupied by Mr John Ritchie, the property of James Walker Esquire'.
