Full Description
School depicted on the OS 2nd edition map, subsequently altered and extended. When it opened in March 1897 it had 600 pupils, but this increased to over 1600 by 1938, and at that time was the biggest school in Scotland. Troops were billeted here during the First World War prior to heading off to war.
