Full Description
War memorial, standing within the cemetery (NJ90SW1095), commemorating soldiers who died in No. 1 Scottish General Hospital during or just after the First World War, and who are buried in the cemetery. Made by Messrs James Robertson and So, Holburn Granite Works. It comprises a plain rectangular Rubislaw granite monolithic wall standing on a plinth, the front and back both with a central incised cross and two panels to each side. The panels are inscribed with lists of names on each side, are surmounted by an inscription which reads: THEIR NAMES LIVETH FOR EVERMORE. The memorial was unveiled on 19th January 1924. The cemetery contains 164 Commonwealth war graves of 1914-1918 and 109 of the Second World War.
