Full Description
War memorial, standing within the church cememetery, commemorating those from Nigg Parish killed in the First and Second World Wars. It is an obelisk of Kemnay granite on a slightly tapering and stepped base. An inscription records 'ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION IN MEMORY OF THE HEROES BELONGING TO THE PARISH OF NIGG WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-191 1949-1945'. Panels record the names - World War I on the upper part of the memorial, World War II below - but there are no references to ranks or units, only to the farms or districts.
