Full Description

Remains of three large motorised winches, recorded during site visit in November 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. One is well preserved, but only the the foundations and exhaust pipes of the other two survive. The wooden rails of a slipway are located in a tiny cove at the bottom of a precipitous cliff. The remains of a cable-way or Blondin Apparatus survives at the top of the cliff. Paving slab steps leading down to the cove have eroded away around half way down. This is one of a series of salmon fishing stations along this coast, operational until the 1980s.
