Remains of a World War II structure, and site of an icehouse depicted on the OS 2nd edition map. Nothing is now visible of this ice house which appears to have been replaced by one of a number of World War II concrete constructions built on the southwest side of Alten's Haven. The structure that replaced the icehouse is a large chamber set back into the slope, with a small annex on the southwest side. The main chamber measures 7m by 6.5m and is 4.2m high to its flat roof, with an entrance on the southeast side. About 40m to the north-northeast is the concrete base of another structure (NJ90SE0130). At the foot of the cliff below these structures are several anti-tank blocks which have been pushed from their original position half way up the slope where they blocked the path leading from the inlet to the top of the cliff. Site visit in May 2023 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey noted that main chamber is built into the bank, and the annex is now roofless: it has door facing the sae and a window overlooking the path down to the bay. To the southeast is a concrete pillar on the cliff top overlooking the coast which could have been the base for a sighting instrument.
