Full Description
Hut base, recorded by CFA field survey in 2004. This rectangular hut base is one of three which survives from the World War II Peterseat Anti-Aircraft (Ack-Ack) Battery and post war Prisoner-of-War camp (NJ90SE0038, NJ90SE0039). The huts were used from 1945-8 by the German Pows held at the site. Memories of the former occupants of these huts revealed that they were basic: they had a central fire which did not really heat the hut and basic beds. During the period of the Ack- Ack battery's use of the huts, women received 2 blankets whilst male occupants only received one.
