Buildings on site of a tenement with shops at ground floor which is depicted on historic OS maps. The site was comprehensively redeveloped at the turn of the 20th century. It occupies two narrow plot widths of the original medieval plan. The street frontage is 2-storey, with an attic storey with three dormer windows. To the rear of the site is 2-storey accommodation. It originally had a central pend leading to Sutherland Court, the covered pend relocated to the east end of the plot in the early 20th century. The large openings have been filled in (probably in the 1960s) with concrete blocks. The ground floor was in use as shops in the 19th century, but toward the end of the 19th century shop use is no longer recorded.No. 76 was later in use as the Portland Club. Some ground floor parts are occupied by the Douglas Hotel.
