Former warehouses of probable 19th century date incorporating earlier tenement buildings. The fragment of wall on the Shiprow frontage may be of late medieval date (see NJ90NW0211). Behind this, the lowest level of the site has surviving fabric of probable early 17th century date, later adapted for storage purposes. The level above appears to be of early 18th century date, also heavily altered. At the upper levels the structure appears to have been adapted for se of a warehouse, its principal access from the Adelphi but the fabric has also been subject to extensive alteration in the 20th century and there have also been late 20th century extensions. The front property was taken down some time between 1926 and 1940. Early valuation rolls show No. 60 to have been occupied by a baker, and the upper floors were in use by leather dealers from the 1870s. From the latter half of the 19th century warehousing was used by corn or grain merchants. Internally, some architectural features of late 16th, 17th and 18th century date appear to remain. Medieval carved stone (of unknown origin) was incorporated into part of a stage set during conversion work to create a club.
