Full Description

Memorial garden to Lady MacRobert, containing a concrete pond, metal sundial and wooden benches. The granite wall to the rear bears the names of her three sons, who died in service during the Second World War, along with a mosaic of the family coat of arms. Following the loss of her sons Lady MacRobert made a donation of £25,000 to purchase a bomber for the RAF and asked that it be named 'MacRobert’s Reply'. A year later Lady Robert donated a further £20,000 to pay for four Hurricanes which were named after her and her three sons. Various planes have borne the name MacRoberts Reply, formerly associated with No 15 Squadron which disbanded in 2017, after which the legacy was carried on by No.6 Squadron.
