Full Description

Domestic and commercial building, still in use as such, built in the later 19th century. It is a two-storey and attic, five-bay commercial and domestic building with Classical detailing including a distinctive pilastered ground floor shop front. The principal (east) elevation has stugged granite ashlar with a polished ashlar base course and deeply projecting cornice. There are six-bay fixed-pane plate glass windows to the shop and a two-leaf door to the far left bay with a glass fan-light above. The entrance to Number 22 at the fourth bay has glazed margins. The first floor has tall with narrow aprons and there are three segmental arched dormers and a pair of pedimented dormers to the rear. The margined timber sash and case windows are multi-glazed. The grey slate, mansard roof has ashlar skews and skewputts and there are cast-iron rainwater goods.
